“Just like all businesses, we are always looking for ways to cut costs and operate more efficiently,” says Brenda Fishbaugh, EYE PRO president for 22 years. “With constant technological advances and our how our business is structured, taking our business from brick-and-mortar to a virtual environment makes perfect sense,” Fishbaugh continued.

“The entire change should be transparent to our customers,” says Jackie DeWald, EYE PRO office manager. “Our great delivery response, phone service, and access will be uninterrupted, and our customers will still see us at the trade shows,” DeWald expains. EYE PRO products will continue to ship from our manufacturing site in Michigan, and all phone numbers and emails are the same.  Only the EYE PRO mailing address will change during this transition.

November 1, 2012 – EYE PRO, Inc., world leader in eyewear and makers of WINK-EASE, VIEWkeepers, Fresh-Ease, and Wink-Ease Dark, has updated its award-winning training.  The 30-minute training covers all aspects of eye protection, including the new FDA recommendations for eye protection for sunless and FDA recommendations for red light therapy.
“Our new training ‘Surviving the Eyewear Jungle’  is designed for salons to train their staff on how to convince customers to wear eye protection while tanning, as well as covering all aspects of eye protection when changing lamps, getting a sunless spray or using red light therapy,” explained Brenda Fishbaugh, EYE PRO president.

“We call the training ‘survival training’ — because it’s a jungle out there – and you need tips to help you survive!” said Jackie DeWald, EYE PRO office manager.  “We offer a dozen survival tips to the salon staff who is unsure of how to survive all the aspects of cleaning eyewear, state laws and selling goggles,” she continued.  “I predict salons will LOVE it!”

Each salon completing the training will receive educational materials to support the information learned online.  Included is EYE PRO’s 8-page “Indoor Tanner’s Guide to Eye Protection” with a color vision test, information on losing night vision and how to avoid raccoon eyes.  Also included — a laminated counter mat showing eight types of eye damage possible from tanning without properly cleaned eyewear to convince tanners of the necessity of wearing eye protection. “These small leopards are found in the rain forests of Thailand,” Fishbaugh explained. “They are called “clouded” because their leopard spots are very large – like light gray “clouds” covering their compact bodies.”  Fishbaugh found that while there were many organizations working to save animals like the tiger and panda, lesser-known endangered animals were hugely underfunded. “Several zookeepers we have worked with in the past are now focusing their efforts to save the Clouded Leopards. Our donation will make a HUGE difference to keep their efforts alive.”

Renee Lofland, EYE PRO’s Director of Customer Support, heard about a local fundraiser for Charis House, who assists and provides for women and children experiencing a homeless crisis in Fort Wayne, Allen County and the nine surrounding areas. Renee rallied the troops at EYE PRO, asking everyone to clean out closets, get friends and family involved, and collect donations for Charis House.

“It seemed like a perfect fit for all of us,” said Lofland. “In an office filled with women who have families, it just made sense to help other women and children find a fresh start through Charis House.”  “They need a lot of assistance with their mission to not only find relief from homelessness, but help these families heal and move forward again,” she continued.

In addition to providing a place for women and children to stay, the 78-bed Charis House provides free programs which include assistance in finding jobs and housing, building life and parenting skills, and learning how to experience emotionally stability and better navigate life’s challenges. Needs lists include clothing, toys, personal toiletries, towels, linens, cleaning supplies and laundry soap. Charis House is part of the Rescue Mission of Fort Wayne, whose mission is to provide restorative care for men, women and children in homeless crisis. Annually, more than 216,000 meals and 46,000 nights of lodging are provided, in addition to goal-oriented programs, job readiness training, and spiritual, emotional and physical healing.
